ZERO – EVOLUTION AND FRAGILITY OF THE EARTH is a video mapping show realized on the facade of the Valli theater in Reggio Emilia, during Benny Benassi’s DJ set for the closing of Fotografia Europea 2015. Music and video blend on the architecture of one of the most spectacular Italian theaters.
The theme of Fotografia Europea 2015, Earth Effect, is the starting point for a multimedia work dedicated to the fragility of nature and our planet. The first part of the show is dedicated to the images of Guy Laliberté, founder of the Cirque du Soleil. Guy was the first artist to have been in space, and from that unusual perspective he captured extraordinary images of our planet.
We animated his photographs, trying to amplify the texture of the earth captured in his shots.
Next we presented our video mapping show together with Benny’s DJ set, who played on a stage in front of the theater. For the installation we used 4 Christie projectors rated at 35,000 Lumen, arranged in two towers installed in Piazza Martiri del 7 Luglio, which for the occasion became the stalls of the event, hosting more than 5,000 spectators.
