Il Coltello di Scarperia is the title of a documentary shot by Framedealer in collaboration with Eligo . To complete the “La tavola Imbandita” scenario, Eligo takes his research to Scarperia, a Tuscan village where kitchen knives have been forged and sharpened for seven centuries. Scarperian cutlery is deeply rooted in the culture of Italian cuisine from both a cultural and aesthetic aspects.
Guests of the documentary are Aldo Lorenzi who for 85 years, from 1929 to 2014, was the owner of the Lorenzi cutlery in via Verri, right around the corner of via Monte Napoleone, a reference point for the people of Milan and a shop awarded with the title of Bottega Storica of Milan.
Together with him Andrea Berti, administrator of the Coltellerie Berti in Scarperia, hosted us in his factory and atelier to document the creation and processing of these unique items.
